Privacy Policy for UZWay Keyboard

UZWay Keyboard is provided by UZWay (“UZWay”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how the UZWay Keyboard Android application (the “App”) handles information.

Privacy summary

UZWay Keyboard is designed to process typing, text correction, local AI actions, and translation on the user’s device. We do not operate user accounts in the App, do not include advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs, and do not sell personal data.

Because a keyboard can handle sensitive text, users should review the local storage features described below before saving clipboard or form-fill content.

Information handled on the device

The App may handle the following information locally to provide features chosen by the user:

  • text entered or edited through the keyboard;
  • current text context needed for suggestions, correction, rewriting, and editing commands;
  • up to 20 recent text clipboard items for clipboard history;
  • form-fill entries that the user intentionally saves, which may include names, addresses, contact details, payment-related text, loyalty information, links, or other custom text;
  • keyboard settings, enabled languages, custom site shortcuts, sound and visual preferences;
  • downloaded dictionaries, correction rules, translation models, and optional AI model files;
  • voice-recognition results returned by the device’s speech-recognition service;
  • recent Travel Mode conversation text held temporarily in memory while the feature is in use.

This locally handled content is not transmitted to UZWay servers for typing prediction, correction, rewriting, translation, analytics, or advertising.

Microphone and speech recognition

Microphone access is optional and is requested only when the user enables dictation, voice commands, or voice-assisted Travel Mode. The App uses Android’s speech-recognition service. Depending on the speech service selected or installed on the device and its settings, audio may be processed on the device or sent to that speech-service provider. That provider’s privacy policy governs its processing. UZWay does not receive or store the audio recording.

Users can deny or revoke microphone permission in Android settings. Manual typing and other features remain available.

Translation and local AI

Text translation uses Google ML Kit on-device translation. Text inputs and translation results are processed on the device and are not sent to Google by the ML Kit API. ML Kit may contact Google to download or update models, bug fixes, and hardware compatibility information.

Optional semantic and text AI features use model files stored and executed on the device. Text processed by these models is not sent to UZWay.

Network connections

The App uses the internet for the following purposes:

  • downloading optional AI models from uzway.com and Hugging Face;
  • downloading dictionaries and correction-rule files from uzway.com;
  • downloading or updating ML Kit translation models and related components;
  • loading favicons for user-visible website shortcuts;
  • opening a website or search requested by the user in the device browser.

When a device connects to a server, ordinary technical request information such as IP address, date and time, requested file, user-agent information, and network error details may be processed by the server or hosting provider for delivery, security, abuse prevention, and reliability. We do not use these requests to obtain typed text, clipboard content, or form-fill values.

Third-party destinations opened by the user, including Google, Hugging Face, and other websites, process data under their own privacy policies.

Local storage, backup, and retention

Settings and user-saved content remain on the device until the user deletes an item, clears clipboard history, clears the App’s storage, or uninstalls the App. Downloaded models remain until App storage is cleared or the App is uninstalled. Temporary processing data is discarded when it is no longer needed.

Android backup or device-transfer features may copy App data through services controlled by the user’s device or platform provider. Sensitive clipboard and form-fill data are excluded from cloud backup.

Deleting data

The App has no UZWay account and therefore has no account data to delete from a UZWay server. Users can:

  • clear clipboard history from the clipboard-history screen;
  • delete individual form-fill entries from the form-fill panel;
  • clear all local App data through Android Settings > Apps > UZWay Keyboard > Storage > Clear storage;
  • uninstall the App to remove its private local files.

Sharing and sale

We do not sell personal data. We do not share typed text, clipboard contents, saved form-fill entries, or local AI outputs with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics providers. Limited technical network information may be processed by hosting and infrastructure providers as described above, or when required by applicable law.

Security

The App stores its private data in Android application storage and uses HTTPS for managed downloads. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should avoid storing passwords, card security codes, authentication codes, private keys, or other highly sensitive secrets in clipboard history or form-fill entries.

Children

The App is not directed specifically to children. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal data on UZWay servers through the App. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information to us may contact us.

International users and legal rights

Depending on location, users may have rights concerning personal information, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection. Because App content is primarily stored only on the user’s device and is not linked to a UZWay account, these rights can normally be exercised using the local deletion controls described above. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the App or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised policy at https://uzway.com/legal/keyboard/privacy and update the effective date. Material changes will be communicated in the App or through the store listing when required.
